Project Overview:
Ripley's international headquarters in Orlando needed equipment to support the finishing of exhibits, props, and displays. Southern Booth & Equipment installed a custom spray booth, compressed air equipment and piping, and a customer-supplied dust collector with the associated dust collection system.
Scope of Work:
SBE supplied project architectural drawings, obtained installation permits, and installed a custom Kayco spray booth with ductwork routed through roof and wall penetrations. The team installed the air compressor, 40 mm Prevost compressed air loop, and dust collection system, and coordinated electrical and dry chemical fire-suppression work with trade contractors.
The Challenge:
Several equipment systems needed to be installed within one coordinated project. Custom duct routing through the building, electrical connections, and fire protection had to be addressed alongside the equipment installation.
The Solution:
SBE coordinated the drawings, permitting, equipment installation, and supporting trades. The team installed a pressurized semi-downdraft spray booth for finishing work, completed the compressed air system, and incorporated installation of the customer's dust collector into the project scope.
Results / Outcome:
The installation provided Ripley's with a dedicated spray booth for finishing exhibits, props, and displays, along with compressed air and dust collection systems at its Orlando headquarters. SBE coordinated these systems and the supporting installation work within one project.
Equipment / Systems Installed:
One custom Kayco pressurized semi-downdraft spray booth; custom ductwork; one NXB06 Ultrapack air compressor; a 40 mm Prevost compressed air loop; and a customer-supplied dust collector with the associated dust collection system. Dry chemical fire suppression was installed by the fire-protection contractor.
