Project Overview:
Naples Shutter wanted to bring finishing closer to its main plant rather than continue outsourcing painting. Southern Booth & Equipment developed a custom side-load, pressurized semi-downdraft spray booth with an attached drying chamber and a heated blower arrangement for product flash-off. The project also included new compressed air equipment and piping.
Scope of Work:
SBE provided the custom booth and drying chamber design, project architectural drawings, equipment, and installation. Electrical work was coordinated through a licensed electrical contractor. The installation included a 32 mm Prevost compressed air loop and two single-phase, 7.5 hp NXB06 Ultrapack rotary screw air compressors with pre- and post-filtration.
The Challenge:
Limited space, project timing, and available electrical capacity shaped the installation. The spray booth and drying chamber needed to fit the facility, and the heated blower arrangement needed to account for the available power supply.
The Solution:
SBE configured the booth and attached drying chamber around the available space and reduced the heating capacity of the blower arrangement to accommodate the electrical limitations. The compressed air loop and compressors completed the finishing setup, with electrical installation handled through SBE's licensed electrical partner.
Results / Outcome:
Naples Shutter brought finishing closer to its main plant instead of relying on outsourced painting. The customer confirmed increased production capacity, improved workflow, better finish quality, and greater efficiency compared with its previous outsourcing arrangement.
